Bartender Coasters Bar (Finance)
Under supervision, perform and maintain profitable bar services and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Unique Job Requirements
Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Must be knowledgeable of California laws regarding selling/serving alcoholic beverages, and able to ascertain when it is appropriate to decline service to obviously intoxicated customers. Must be able to enforce all ABC rules. Must obtain a CA Food Handler card within 30 days of hire, or show proof of existing CA Food Handler card.
Job Tasks
• Sell, prepare, and serve drinks and assorted restaurant food.
• Collect money and return change.
• Prepare garnishes for drinks.
• Stock bar with ice and necessary mixers.
• Obtain necessary liquor and beer from managers on duty.
• Rotate bottled beer on first in, first out basis.
• Tap draft beer kegs.
• Requisition necessary food from snack bar.
• Wash and stack bar glassware.
• Responsible for set up of back bar display.
• Review work of porter and complete any necessary work to assure immaculate appearance of bar.
• Maintain cleanliness of bar, back bar, work boards, and beer required from storage.
• Make out daily requisition for liquor and beer required from storage.
• Maintain Alcoholic Beverage Control Regulations.
• Maintain security of all bar supplies and beverages.
• Check identification per house policy and A.B.C. Regulations.
• Display a pleasant and courteous manner to all customers.
• Complete daily departmental worksheets.
• Promote increased sales, special parties and events.
• Ability to obtain CA Food Handler card within 30 days of hire.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

All levels of Santa Cruz Seaside Company personnel.

Guests, clients and providers of service.
Qualifications: Training and Experience
Must be at least 21 years old. 6 months minimum bartender experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to meet and greet with the public in a positive and friendly manner.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work at a fast pace.
• Ability to make accurate mathematical calculations and operate a calculator.
• Ability to memorize drink orders and prepare in the proper order.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply policies and procedures unique to the Boardwalk Bowl and the Company.
• Ability to memorize drink orders and prepare accurately.
• Ability to learn and enforce A.B.C. and California laws regarding proper I.D. and sale of alcohol.
Physical Requirements
• Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
• Able to lift cases of beer up to 25 pounds in succession and to load and transport boxes on hand truck.
• Able to bend over, get on knees, squat, and get into small, confined areas.
• Able to hear normal conversations on the telephone and in person.
• Able to move equipment weighing up to 35 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds with help.
• Able to see and read agreements, instructions and correspondence.
• Able to move through crowds, tables, and behind a busy, confined bar area.
• Bi-manual dexterity.
