SR. PRINCIPAL ENGINEER

Connect Staffing, Inc. seeks a Sr. Principal Engineer for a long-term contract role with a top corporate employer headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. This position functions as an Engineer within Liaison Engineering and will provide technical leadership for the development, design & production of the repair/modification process in support of our client's Wifi removal/Installation efforts. Hourly rate up to $80.00/hr based on experience.  Responsibilities include:

  • Answer Wifi installation calls/emails from stations around the world, researching discrepancies and possible solutions, and creating repair paperwork.
  • Develop structural analysis for aircraft repairs and damaged aircraft structure in the Wifi modification areas.
  • Develop substantiation reports to support the demod of existing IDTV or other antenna designs and restore aircraft back to type certified design configuration.
  • Evaluate and interpret AD, CFR, and policy requirements to ensure compliance in all engineering documentation.
  • Accomplish review and approval of repair documents to ensure adherence to CFRs and ADs • Aid in analyzing and correcting problems which hamper the maintenance support activities for the wifi removal/installation process.
  • Author/check/approve repair on paperwork.
  • Develop Wifi structural repairs when the SRM cannot be utilized and when deviations occur during Wifi removal/install accomplishment.
  • Work directly with STC Holders to secure repair approval when internal approval cannot be obtained.
  • Coordinate with Wifi Project team on accomplish schedule and support.
  • Review the modification drawings and work instructions, as needed.
  • Collaborate with Delta's SMEs and ODA to develop substantiation and regulatory compliance plans and approvals.

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • Previous airline, military, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft is strongly preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and have strong interpersonal skills
  • Be adaptable and flexible in order to embrace change and perform and excel in a stressful environment with short deadlines
  • Strong background in Structural Analysis, including Statics, Mechanics of Deformable Bodies, Materials Science and Fracture Mechanics
  • Will require working odd hours/weekends based on operational/project requirements and must be willing to travel on a limited basis, as required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Access) and AutoCAD (or similar CAD software).
  • Strong knowledge of CFRs parts 25, 43, 121.
