Grill Cook (Food Services)



Safe Harbor Peninsula Yacht Club is looking for a Full Time Grill Cook.

We are seeking someone to become part of our team to prepare and execute our A La Carte menu for our members.

We provide an extensive menu ranging from casual items to fine-dining entrees.

We offer our Full-Time team Insurance, Paid Holidays, Paid Vacation & Other benefits.

Prior line cook experience is required, however, we are always open to training the right person who wants to expand their skill set and further their career!

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Must be able to work efficiently, while maintaining a clean workstation
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Perform well under pressure
  • Be able to stand for long periods
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Must be able to prep and cook proteins to temperature
  • Would be required to work a la carte service as well as banquets
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have adequate knife skills
  • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
  • Be organized and efficient
  • Execute kitchens recipes
  • Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
  • Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
  • Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
  • Maintain inventory control
  • Available to work overtime when required
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

  • Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
  • Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately. 

Technical and Physical Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 2 years' experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift, rotate, reach
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
