Outside Sales, Aftermarket - Central Region (Project Management)

If you are a Sales professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Home Based in Midwestern United States, you will develop and increase the aftermarket business with existing power customers in the midwestern territory.
 
AS AN OUTSIDE SALES, AFTERMARKET YOU WILL: 
  • Sales calls
  • Meet territorial booking and margin objectives
  • Account cultivation
  • Executive level customer relationship development
  • Execution of sales plans and strategies
  • Establishing, maintaining, and enhancing customer relationships
  • Provide customer presentations and basic level product solution demonstrations
  • Recommend account business strategies
  • Negotiate and close orders and proposal scope strategies
  • Provide competitive differentiation and pricing strategy to PWS management, along with negotiation leadership
  • Maintain current knowledge of power industry trends and business direction and provide PWS management industry updates
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and timely CRM updates
  • Participate in select local professional meetings, trade shows, and conferences as a representative of Emerson
  • Work as a team leader or member in promoting other Emerson BU opportunities within the installed base
WHO YOU ARE:

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical related discipline.  
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in process control/application engineering, field service, marketing, or sales.
  • Must reside in Midwestern United States.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% (Post COVID restrictions).
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the customer hierarchy, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills when working with other Emerson Power & Water Solutions divisions and impact partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with the implementation of DCS technologies, application engineering, plant optimization/simulators and utility fleet enterprise solutions to enhance operations, as well as renewable alternative energy solutions.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience with assembling and managing successful virtual pursuit teams.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
 
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  
  • Bachelor's degree in, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Knowledgeable of Ovation.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the power market in the Midwest.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to work autonomously, as well as experience with assembling and managing successful virtual pursuit teams is required.
