Warehouse Assistant Manager - Daytona Beach, FL (Transportation)

Today, Piedmont Plastics is currently hiring for a Warehouse Assistant Manager for our Daytona Branch location. The Warehouse Assistant Manager performs, coordinates and sometimes directs activities in the branch warehouse to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits by performing duties personally or through subordinates

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate activities of warehouse employees and material cutters in the distribution and converting of plastic rod, sheet and tube.
  • Perform routine supervisory and human resource activities for assigned employees such as payroll, attendance, training and disciplinary actions.
  • Review bills of lading for incoming material and sales order (GreenSets) to plan work activities.
  • Assign employees to specific duties, such as verifying amounts of and storing incoming material and assembling GreenSets for converting, packing and delivery.
  • Establish operation procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of material and keeping of warehouse inventory.
  • Direct and coordinate the work flow of materials and customer orders throughout the process to meet customer quality and delivery expectations.
  • Confer with administrative and sales personnel and review daily activity and converting operations to determine changes in manpower assignment or other operations required to meet objectives.
  • Responsible for maintaining and directing the Piedmont Plastics quality and safety expectations and requirements for warehouse operations.
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance ensuring all equipment is in safe working order and routine preventative maintenance is performed and documented.
  • Direct reclamation of damaged material.
  • Oversee and direct the routine and non-routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform all the tasks included in supervisory responsibilities. and duties normally done by warehouse personnel on an as needed basis.
  • Control cost in the warehouse operation.
  • Purchase warehouse supplies.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the general work area housekeeping and safe work habits are followed.

Requirements – IF YOU HAVE:

  • 1 years minimum of warehouse supervisory experience
  • The ability to establish priorities and multi-task along with proficiency in measurements
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • The strength and endurance to safely lift 55-100 pounds
  • Forklift/pallet jack experience or certification
