Paramedic/Emergency Department PT and PRN (Finance)

Fall River Health Services is looking for a paramedic to plan and provide direct patient care specific to the diagnosis and age of the patient served, under the direction of an Emergency Department physician, on a continuing basis, to obtain optimum health for a patient and family, in accordance with accepted hospital standards and policy. Provides BLS and ALS emergency care.
Schedule: Part-time and PRN.
Responsbilities:
Collaborate with the emergency department attending provider and registered nurse in the formulation of the individualized plan of care from admission through discharge. Assists RN and provider with patient care, carrying out delegated tasks within scope of practice.Identify patient and significant others teaching needs, participate in and reinforce teaching, including patient/family and significant others.Contribute to patient assessment and participates in the implementation of nursing intervention.Demonstrate the ability to recognize an emergency and initiate appropriate response.Implement plan of patient care after initial assessment by RN and works closely with healthcare team.Participate in evaluation of the effectiveness of patient care interventions and contributes to the revision of the plan of care as necessary.Demonstrate the ability to start an IV.Perform procedures and treatments according to the EMS standards and department policies and protocols.Document accurately in the electronic medical record, maintain patient privacy and adheres to HIPAA standards.Follow safety and infection control policies and procedures.All other duties as assigned.
