Job Summary

Techniseal is looking for a Director of Sales in the US. Techniseal has been the world leader in the field of polymer sand for more than 35 years and a renowned manufacturer of products for the cleaning and protection of concrete pavers. Founded in 1984, it is now part of the large Oldcastle family, a multinational specializing in building materials, and its operations cover Canada, the United States and Europe.

The position is remote within the US, preferably located within 50 miles of a major air transportation hub. Reporting to the Vice-President Sales and Customer Service, the Director of Sales is responsible for the following duties:

  • Leadership of the B2B US Pro commercial sales team (13 direct reports)
  • Develop and maintain strategies to drive profitable growth and provide world-class service to our customers

Responsibilities

  • Perform strategic sales planning and strategic management of Regional Sales Managers (RSM), sales channels, and product segments
  • Build strategic alliances and partnerships with existing and new customers
  • Provide market intelligence regularly, contribute knowledge to sales pricing and promotions
  • Develop markets and grow revenues and profitability
  • Coach, develop and motivate the US Pro commercial sales team
  • Identify and develop future sales leaders, and gaps in markets where sales or service support is required
  • Organize and align its sectors of activity according to the desired growth of the organization
  • Develop and/or implement systems and processes to support growth
  • Adopt a strategic vision within the various business sectors that reflect the vision of Techniseal
  • Plan the implementation of the sales strategy in concert with the RSMs'
  • Demonstrate a high level of security awareness, ensure that the Sales team adheres to all security procedures and policies
  • Work with RSMs' to create an annual sales objective and road map for success per region
  • Ensure that the sales team meets or exceeds sales targets and objectives
  • Support the various internal departments with accurate, timely market and product intelligence as related to the competition and customer experience
  • Work closely with the management team on special projects, cost saving initiatives, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or marketing or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in a sales management role
  • Experience in companies serving the landscaping market or building products an asset
  • Availability to travel up to 40% of the time
  • May be required to travel outside the country (passport valid at all times)
  • Driver's license valid at all times
  • Strong communication and relationship skills
  • Able to use relevant computer software to set up and track performance indicators, create presentations for senior management, etc. (Office 365 Suite, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to and experience in working with a CRM (salesforce or other similar)
