Educational Liaison (Personal Services)

WHAT IS THIS POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR?

  • Work with family members to identify reasons for youth's truancy and barriers to regular and positive school attendance.
  • Attend parent/teacher conferences and/or classes with students as needed.
  • Work with school personnel and placing agents to identify solutions and interventions necessary to ensure school attendance, increase youth involvement in school, and improve academic performance.
  • Provide parent education and crisis intervention.
  • Attend initial court hearing as directed by the court to meet with the juvenile and their family; preliminary intake, gathering of basic information, and an overview of the program will be provided.
  • Monitor school attendance, performance, and behavior.
  • Conduct complete and comprehensive intake and assessment; create a Family Development Plan (FDP) i.e. treatment plan and share with probation officer and school social workers.
  • Complete weekly skills-based classes with youth and parents; individual or group if appropriate.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION?

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related human service field.
  • Must have knowledge of relevant educational services and needs for populations served.
  • Must meet requirements as identified by State regulations.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must have valid driver's license and qualify for Company's vehicle liability insurance.
  • Candidates must pass required background checks including county/state checks, fingerprinting, CPS check, sex offender registry check, and drug screen.
