Actuarial - ActuarialPrudential Financial is a life insurance & asset management industry leader that provides innovative solutions to a variety of markets. The Principal Based Reserves (PBR) team within the Valuation and Projection group is seeking an analytical minded individual, who will look to explain reserve changes to the Individual Life PBR Valuation and Forecasting processes. This associate will play a key role supporting the modeling and analysis of Individual Life PBR reserve changes Enterprise Forecasting and Valuation, as well as supporting the development of the underlying framework, models, and infrastructure. This role provides an opportunity to engage and drive impacts for all the insurance businesses of Prudential Financial.
Job Responsibilities:
· Lead the development, testing, and enhancement of PBR Forecast, Asset Adequacy Testing, and other strategic modeling initiatives in PolySystems and AXIS
· Manage a direct report through execution of work
· Develop and build ad-hoc calculations of new financial measures as well as improving existing processes to improve business outcomes and customer interactions
· Collaborate within Actuarial and across Financial Management areas (Chief Investment Office, Enterprise Risk Management, Treasury, etc.) and communicate sophisticated modeling results to costumers of various backgrounds
· Coordinate the execution of a conversion to PolySystems from AXIS
Preferred Qualifications:
· Superior technical skills with modeling & programming experience in Polysystems, GGY Axis, SQL, Python, etc.
· ASA Actuarial credential
· Technical curiosity and ownership of modeling responsibilities
· 3+ years of actuarial or modeling experience preferably in an insurance company context
· Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute across multiple work efforts simultaneously to meet competing deadlines
· Knowledge of GAAP & Statutory financial principles
· Strong verbal & written communication skills, particularly in explaining technical challenges & writing documentation
· Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance or a related field
· Primary location for position is in the Hartford, CT office, but open to remote or Newark, NJ as well.
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $111,400.00 to $165,800.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
