Auditor - Junior (Education)

Sierra7, Inc. is seeking a Junior Auditor to support the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - Office of Finance (OF). The Office of Finance is the steward of VHA financial resources for Veterans who receive healthcare. Continuous improvement is achieved through the full cycle of healthcare budget and accounting activities within a large financial community and external partnerships.

Position Responsibilities:
Support adhering to Federal, State & Local Financial laws, regulations, and activities.
Operational experience supporting a large financial organization with financial and accounting related tasks, such as analysis and interpretation of accounting and audit policy.
Assist in planning and executing financial and performance audits under the supervision of senior auditors.
Experience in implementing a financial and acquisition system.
Support internal and external audits, reviews, and other related activities.
Perform fieldwork activities such as testing internal controls, reviewing supporting documentation, and verifying transactions.
Assist with analyzing data and preparing reports and summaries.
Analyze records and financial data for compliance with federal laws and VA policies.
Identify trends, irregularities or risk areas and escalate findings to senior auditors.
Assist in developing tools and reports to assess risk, reconcile data, report on financial health, performance of audit, and other financial activities as needed.
Ensure accurate and complete documentation to support audit conclusions.
Draft sections of audit reports including observations, analyses, and initial recommendations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
