SCOPE OF ROLE

Reporting to the Director, Information Technology and dotted line reporting to the System Administrator, the Junior System Administrator will be successful in utilizing their skills to be a hands-on technical expert responsible for implementing and/or modifying security access and identity changes for employees, contractors, and other individuals requiring access to Signature Health's IT systems. You will provide technical expertise and leadership in the overall management of current and future clinical application systems and/or technology services within the company. The Junior System Administrator will act as a strong resource for all employees by ensuring continuity and alignment of technology applications and participating in the development of the company's technology services, infrastructure, guidelines, procedures and standards.

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED :

  • Assist System Administrator with maintaining the Signature Health network, server deployment and system security; modify system performance when appropriate.
  • Use strong time management skills regarding individual schedule and collaborate with your team to perform assignments.
  • Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
  • Troubleshoot problems reported by users; analyze, follow-up and isolate issues.
  • Assist System Administrator with maintaining network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.
  • Build and assign routing protocols, routing table configuration.
  • Collaborate with your team and make recommendations for future system upgrades.
  • Configure and monitor Hyper V servers and Virtual Machines.
  • Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, company mobile phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
  • Create and assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services
  • Design and deploy networks; maintain network servers such as file servers, and VPN gateways.
  • Support System Administrator ensuring connectivity throughout Signature Health's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
  • Make changes, monitor, support, and configure SQL Server Databases.
  • Monitor and support system wide backups of files and servers.
  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
  • Maintain all aspects of HIPAA, promoting patient confidentiality and right to privacy.
  • May be required to perform remote services as determined by Signature Health.
  • Adherence and completion of compliance training provided by Signature Health.
  • Responsible for and completes all productivity/documentation requirements.
  • Participate in all assigned staff meetings and staff development programs.
  • Demonstrate appropriate attendance and punctuality in adherence with Signature Health policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE :

  • Associate's Degree in computer science or technology required. 
  • 2-4 years' experience in system administration with demonstrated knowledge in the following areas required:
    • Microsoft Operating Systems 2008R2 to 2016, Microsoft Office 365, and Microsoft SQL Server
    • Hyper V 
  • Experience in system administration with demonstrated knowledge in the following areas preferred:
    • Microsoft Defender
    • Cisco switching and routing including Vlans and QOS
    • Barracuda and Ubiquiti Firewalls
    • Shoretel/Mitel phone systems
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Technology preferred.

    WORKING CONDITIONS :

    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
    • While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
    • Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work. 
    • Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
    • Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
    • Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
    • Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
    • Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
    • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
    • Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
