This Technical Manager, Software Development is responsible for development build/run teams within the Global Resource Sharing Platform group, including delivering Resource Sharing features, scheduling staff tasks and performance reviews. The manager works with other teams within Resource Sharing and other groups across OCLC. The manager is responsible for technical decisions during software development. This individual should work as a key representative of the portfolio – and be able to communicate individual section-level work/priorities to their teams, other peer managers and the Resource Sharing Platform Manager – and work for the greater good of the portfolio. The manager will be responsible for the individuals in his/her teams and should exemplify the behavior associated with the position – i.e., leading, motivating, communicating, managing staff performance, being accountable, organized, responsible and a person of integrity. Objective: efficiently utilize development staff based on corporate priorities, risk, and return on investment.
This position is open to technical managers and to software developers with a proven track record of leadership, who are looking to move into a management role.
