Operations Supervisor - Roosevelt Plant (Finance)



Position Description

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and reliability of compressors, processing plant equipment, measurement practices, and compliance with safety and environmental policies.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Inspect all aspects of operations within the area assigned.
• Maintain work schedules and on call schedules for the area assigned.
• Review daily reports for accuracy.
• Make callouts as needed to keep operation running and uninterrupted as much as possible.
• Schedule pipeline pigging operations.
• Report all safety and environmental issues to operations manager.
• Understand and develop good safety habits.
• Take care of company vehicle and equipment.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Wear proper PPE for tasks and set a good example for others.
• Strive for continuous improvement.
• Support maintenance group with help where help can be utilized (i.e., running parts and having equipment ready for service and/or repair).
• Develop the employees' skills to increase the area's operating performance, such as safety, environmental, regulatory, operations, maintenance, equipment, facilities, and team participation.
• Keep lines of communication open between direct reports and other company personnel.
• Develop a cost-effective approach to doing business.
• Ensure that all DOT records and inspections are current.
• Help in other areas of the business as needed.
• Report all excessive downtime to appropriate people.
• Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.
• Assist with managing yearly budgets and capital projects.
• Keep safety in the forefront of every task performed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Education and/or experience:
• High school degree or equivalent.
• General knowledge of compressor stations, gathering system, and processing plant operations.
• Working knowledge of mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high pressure systems.
Qualifications:
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer orientation.
• Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situation to other employees of the company and outside contractors.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out day-to-day operation issues.
• Ability to make quick and reasonable decisions in sometimes-adverse conditions.
• Ability to follow Company policies, practices, and regulatory requirements.
Certificates, licenses, registrations:
• Valid state operating license with an acceptable driving record.

• Use physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment/tools.
• Climb and work at various heights. May work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position.
• Routinely react to visual, aural and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and visually inspect work.
• Regularly bend, stoop and move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level a load up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., and apply up to 150 foot pounds of torque.
• Regularly get into and out of vehicles and ride over rough roads.
• Walk an average of 5 miles per day, up to 7 miles per day.
• May be subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing requirements,
• Subject to overtime and call-outs.

• Work mostly outdoors, in and around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment.
• Required to climb about equipment and work in confined areas (i.e., tanks, between compressors, vessels).
• May work in hazardous conditions including hydrocarbon vapor, adverse weather conditions, and extreme temperatures.
• Wear safety equipment as required.
