WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Returns Material Specialist is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of return materials, from initial receipt to final disposition. This role involves developing and implementing streamlined processes to optimize efficiency and guide daily operations. The ideal candidate will excel in creating, refining, and executing procedures that ensure high levels of performance, customer satisfaction, cost management, and data integration within reverse logistics. Success in this position requires collaboration across multiple levels and departments to drive continuous improvement and act as a catalyst for change.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Execute tasks related to material tracking, troubleshooting and testing, and coordination of return equipment movement.
  • Develop and publish meaningful reporting that will be the foundation for both real-time performance improvement and process improvement.
  • Work across the organization to develop and standardize documented processes related to reverse logistics, troubleshooting, and testing.
  • Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, and internal groups to develop strong testing procedures that balance cost avoidance and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform trade-off analysis to guide decisions on equipment disposition.
  • Develop Key Performance Measures in collaboration with the National Logistics Center Director.
  • Perform in a manner consistent with company Vision, Mission Statement, and Operating Principles

WHO YOU ARE

To perform this role successfully, the Returns Materials Specialist must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, education, and overall experience required for the role.  

Experience & Education

  • Prior experience in troubleshooting and testing network, computer, and/or display hardware.
  • Experience coordinating warranty returns and/or repairs with outside vendors.
  • Proven experience in change management and process improvement.
  • Strong calculative and analytical skill sets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous use of ERP systems, with SAP experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize data, multi-task several priorities, and possess solid time management skills; able to meet required deadlines.
  • Proficiency in the entire MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to act with a sense of urgency, be highly detail-oriented, and work effectively as part of a team.

WHERE YOU'LL WORK

  • Business casual warehouse work environment.
  • Ability to coordinate and/or direct multiple groups and locations to support customer requirements.
  • Indoor work environment with occasional tasks in non-temperature-controlled areas.
  • Day shift with possible weekend work for large projects.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate a standup or sit-down forklift safely as needed.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
