Engineering Interns 2026- Manitowoc, WI (Project Management)



THE DAY TO DAY…

  • Support engineering staff by performing basic engineering assignments in the design and development of crane control systems (Electrical) or crane structures and mechanisms (Mechanical)
  • This can involve participation with planning, technology research, functional design, prototyping, product/component testing, etc.

In this internship you will gain experience with:

Electrical & Computer Engineering Interns:

  • Embedded controllers in electric over hydraulic circuits
  • Electrical circuit design in construction equipment applications
  • Hydraulic control systems
  • Creo / Windchill
  • C/C++ for embedded controllers
  • Microsoft Office

Mechanical Interns:

  • Concept Development
  • Material Selection and Component Design
  • Production Improvements
  • Product Customizations
  • Creo / Windchill
  • Microsoft Office

You will be exposed to:

  • Office Environment
  • Lattice boom crawler crane design and manufacturing
  • Design reviews
  • Structural fabrication processes including cutting, welding, forming, machining and more
  • The product development process and manufacturing principles
  • The systems prototyping process
  • Production changes
  • Final assembly processes
  • Quality assurance processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be enrolled as a student at an accredited university studying toward a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Must have and maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0/4.0
  • Should be mechanically inclined and have an interest in new product development, construction equipment, and manufacturing
  • Experience with 3D Engineering software; preferably Creo (ProENGINEER)
