Leave Administrator (Project Management)



The Leave Administrator monitors occupational and non-occupational absences insuring that employees return to work as quickly and safely as possible. The incumbent will employ best practice principles in early intervention, safe return to work, work comp, and workplace accommodation in partnership with employees, supervisors, leave specialist and managers. Will be responsible for monitoring the medical management of the Return-To-Work (RTW) Program administration tasks while delivering excellent customer service and driving best practices.

Primary Accountabilities and Duties:
  • Responsible for sending 7-day final certification letters
  • Responsible for sending denial letters for no medical documentation
  • Responsible for sending leave update letters
  • Responsible for sending final attempt letters for Covid-19 cases
  • Responsible for placing employees out on provisional leave in UltiPro and sending the appropriate leave packets
  • Responsible for calling employees for return to work
  • Identifying potential assignments for return to work when transitional duty is identified within the employee's medical restrictions and coordinate return to work modified offers
  • Ability to train business partners on the company's return to work process.
  • A general understanding of the leave of absence full cycle process
  • Supporting the return-to-work process through data analysis and records keeping
  • Be able to serve as a back-up for the leave of absence/return to work specialist
  • Delivering superior customer service
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated work experience in a related field
  • Progressive experience with timely, safe return to work strategies
  • Knowledge of FMLA, MLOA, ADA, WC, and state equivalent leave laws
  • Understanding of current Absence Management best practices for both occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries
  • Self-motivated, highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, constantly changing, high-demand work environment and to prioritize to drive tasks and projects to completion
  • Solid time-management, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • History of strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Previous experience in Insurance, Medical Claims or industry-related claims management experience preferred
  • Solid knowledge of computers and software applications programs including Microsoft Windows NT, Word, Excel, Power Point, Claims Management, and Outlook required
  • Salary based upon experience
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.
