Business Analytics Senior Advisor - Transparency Insights Analytics (Information Technology)



Summary

This role reports into the Affordability Insights Agile Release Train (ART) within the Digital & Analytics organization and will be responsible for supporting key analytics, components and creation of the cloud based Transparency Insight Tools (Hospital and Payer) as a Business Analytics Senior Advisor within a dedicated agile scrum team.

Recognized internally as a subject matter expert and point of contact for business partners and IT matrix partners, the BA provides guidance on end-user needs, informs reporting solution design, and fulfills data and measurement requests in support of business priorities. The BA uses deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders through the creation of business acceptance testing, and exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives quickly to market.

As part of the role, the BA delivers analytical and operational reporting, risk analysis, business performance measurement, and management dashboards through the use of portals and self-service tools across the organization. The BA also creates and delivers automated solutions leveraging strategic tools driving relevant insights in partnership with Business Analytics and IT.

The individual in this role will work with an innovative team to enable the successful ingestion of price transparency and create displays of analytics and reporting across various affordability platforms and workflows. They will be responsible for user acceptance testing and gathering/developing insightful business requirements for agile feature and user story creation. Holistic thinking while maintaining/developing key end user relationships is vital to the success of the Payor/Hospital Transparency Intelligence Tool. This role provides the ability to more accurately demonstrate how our prices compare to competitors in order to help advance competitive affordability positions within the industry and achieve broader organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders, business partners, and IT matrix partners to manage scope, understand key requirements, and develop analytic solutions
  • Analyzes complex issues to define the scope of work
  • Partners with the BPOs (Business Product Owners) and Data TPO (Technology Product Owner) to maximize strategic sourcing of data
  • Exhibits in-depth understanding of data and leverages data in an appropriate manner to effectively communicate with leadership and key business stakeholders
  • Prepares for and participates in key planning sessions and cross-functional meetings
  • Develops subject matter expertise on specific processes and provide insights and documentation to ART leadership
  • Recommends business tests to support validation efforts and develop queries for accuracy metrics
  • Develops and documents business rules based on data analysis (e.g. for data aggregation, applying filters, etc.)
  • Performs ad-hoc data analysis and extracts data from various systems to support UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
  • Reconciles data between legacy and new data sources; completes root cause analysis to identify and recommend solutions to close large gaps; creates talking points to explain rational/expected data gaps

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' work experience in health care/managed care field with experience solving complex business problems using data tools and analytical processes. Preferable experience within the medical contracting arena
  • Skilled with data analysis tools and languages - SQL, SAS, R, Python, etc. preferred
  • Hands on experience with strong database querying skills utilizing SQL Server, TOAD, Hadoop, Python, HUE, SAS (EG) or Teradata preferred
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Excel, LOOKER, Tableau, or COGNOS preferred
  • Experienced in applying a combination of analytical, technical, and business acumen; able to produce and document business requirements that will be translated into technical solutions
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to compile and analyze information, ensure data integrity, and provide resolutions or recommendations for improving operational processes
  • Able to comprehend complicated concepts and break them down into easily understandable and meaningful information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be polished and professional, and have experience interacting with senior leadership; must demonstrate a high "EQ" (emotional intelligence) in all situations
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed environment
  • Experience in strategic planning, project management, process automation, and business applications
  • Able to independently prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities to achieve goals and drive results
  • Prepared to manage ambiguity and work effectively in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
  • Motivated by opportunities for data discovery and problem-solving; adaptable and interested in learning new tools and data sources
  • Previous Agile or advanced analytics experience preferred

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 107,900 - 179,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
