The Principal, Brand Marketing must be a strong advocate and expert in the meaning, strategy, and expression of the Dun & Bradstreet brand, as they are responsible for leading and executing projects that build our brand and ultimately support our business strategy and growth goals.

The Principal, Brand Marketing will be responsible for upholding standards for branding and naming, to be a trusted partner to product marketing teams, business leadership, and teams across our global organization.

The Principal, Brand Marketing must have extensive experience and confidence handling a wide range of brand strategy issues.

The Principal, Brand Marketing must have a proven track record for efficiently managing multiple projects simultaneously and must also have exceptional skills in critical thinking, collaboration and team building, and work effectively with senior leadership.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of projects and campaigns, including project definition, strategic planning and oversight, collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, vendor management, efficient project management, and legal and compliance submissions.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and brand steward, providing insights and recommendations specific to brand principals, style, brand architecture and naming conventions, use of and protection of our brand assets, co-branding, messaging, brand management processes and policy, as it applies to branding, marketing, and communications.
  • Work closely with external agencies and internal creative teams to inspire, recognize, and nurture effective brand and creative strategies and ideas.
  • Monitor brand health and performance, working with in-house teams, third party suppliers, and software to define metrics, gather and distribute meaningful insights, and provide recommendations for improving the performance of our brands.
  • Experience and Competencies

  • 12+ years of B2B brand, marketing, or communications experience in a corporate or agency setting, preferably working with data or technology brands.
  • 5+ years of project management experience; experience with Agile methodology preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and planning campaigns, sponsorships, thought leadership content, communications, and customer experiences that generate brand recognition, preference, and affinity.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; experience copywriting preferred.
  • Expertise specific to developing brand strategy, including brand architecture, positioning, voice, personality, and message frameworks preferred.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn technical topics.
  • Ability to translate feedback across stakeholders into directional guidance for agency partners.
  • Ability to foster collaborative, long-term thinking that drives unification across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Experience working with highly matrixed organizations.
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing or equivalent
