Bakehouse Maintenance Technician (Finance)
What are the requirements and skills needed for this job?
Availability:
40 hours per week, Wednesday through Sunday.
Weekend and Holiday availability. We close only on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Full availability in November and December (we don't take any extra time off during these months)
On-call every other week for off hours repairs (we are working 24-hours per day in the bakery)
Performance Expectations - Essential Functions:
Working with the Maintenance Manager on equipment purchases and installations
Perform, under the direction of the manager, daily, weekly, and monthly priorities for equipment and facility maintenance with the goal to minimize breakdowns and support smooth, uninterrupted business operations.
Maintain an organized and properly stocked maintenance shop to ensure the highest levels of efficiency, productivity, and cost savings
Performs or assists in the performance of maintenance repairs as appropriate and possible. Learn to repair some of the common issues of unique Bakehouse equipment.
Ensure workplace safety through maintaining all applicable safety rules and requirements
Conducts all maintenance and repair work in accordance with the Bakehouse Food Safety Plan.
Updates a computer based system to track preventive maintenance programs and to schedule preventive maintenance services
Develops and maintains strong relationships with Bakehouse Managers and provides great service to these internal customers.
Communicates equipment and facility repair status with department managers as necessary
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have some experience and familiarity in HVAC, electrical and carpentry work.
Must have some mechanical background.
Valid Michigan Driver's with a good driving record.
The ability to deal successfully with multiple tasks and high stress situations
Skilled use of Hi-lo or willing to obtain certification.
Chauffeur's License a plus by not required.
Physical Demands:
Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly during an 8 hour shift
Comfortable standing, lifting and bending for the duration of an 8-9 hour shift.

Where are we?
Zingerman's Bakehouse is located on the south side of Ann Arbor at 3711 Plaza Drive. While there is a bus stop within walking distance, the Bakehouse is NOT located on AATA bus route.
