BASIC FUNCTION
Provides mechanical, electrical, and graphical drafting support, including all documentation, required for engineering company projects. Works with Product Data Management (PDM) systems to manage Bill of Materials (BOM) and Solidworks. This position will need to demonstrate an ongoing investment in the transition from Microsoft Dynamics NAV to NetSuite ERP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilizes CAD system to create new designs, detailed drawings, weldments, and assemblies.
- Works from sketches, written instructions and verbal instructions that may require interpretation on an independent basis.
- Performs mathematical calculations as required.
- Exercises independent judgement in selection of scale, views, and dimensions on drawings.
- Interact with engineers, designers, vendors, or parts catalogs to gain additional information as required to complete projects.
- Works with Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
- Works with Product Data Management (PDM) system to manage Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Works with documentation coordinator to ensure that information is entered into parts master and bill of material system.
- Records statistical data for analysis of the design/drafting functions continuous improvement plan.
- Troubleshoot and repair problems with CAD software and hardware.

EXPERIENCE
- 3 - 5 years as a CAD drafter or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Solidworks modeling
- Basic knowledge of typical industry related Drafting Standards, Design Specifications, Engineering Standards, Industry Standards, and Product Lifecycle Management related Policies-Procedures.
EDUCATION
- A two-year degree in drafting, or a related field, from an accredited institution
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Solidworks Certifications (CSWA) or CSWP/CSWE
