Job Responsibilities
As a Bartender Lead, you will assist in the training, supervision and support all bar and catering associates providing exceptional guest service.
Your specific duties in this role will include:
• Perform opening and closing sidework per checklists.
• Greet customers, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding drinks and menu items.
• Take drink orders from customers or Servers. Prepare cocktails in accordance with standard beverage recipes.
• Take food orders from guests and submit to kitchen for preparation.
• Properly record all sales transactions and secure accurate payment.
• Wash glassware as needed.
• Familiarize and be knowledgeable of current food and beverage offerings, including wine lists and cocktail menu.
• Assist the managers in directing, training and mentoring all bar and catering associates.
• Assist in maintaining proper shift coverage including covering meal breaks and call offs.
• Assign duties and shifts to associates and observe performance to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures.
• Ensure all sidework is completed daily in accordance with checklists.
• Open and close shifts making cash drops as necessary.
• Ensuring proper cash control procedures are followed.
• Ensure all brand standards are followed.
• Ensure food sanitation and proper food handling standards are being followed.
• Assist in ensuring effective departmental communication through logs, daily stand up meetings, BEO meetings and monthly department meetings.
• Coordinate the details of each event such as number of persons expected, display space desired, and food service schedule with the appropriate management and staff.
• Ensure the proper set-up, break down and safe storage of all dining tables, service stations and bars.
• Ensure banquet rooms are set up according to event order and desires of group.
• Ensure proper tabulation of banquet checks and that checks are reviewed with guests.
• Ensure food quality and service standards are being maintained.
• Ensure food sanitation and proper food handling standards are being followed
• Assist with a variety of administrative tasks including maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies, processing guest billing issues, and handling any accounting and purchasing functions.
• Provide guests with information pertaining to available services and hours of the hotel and surrounding areas.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the Lounge and surrounding areas.
Job Requirements
We are looking for a self-motivated Bartender Lead with a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations. It is also important that you have excellent communication skills as well as the ability to establish rapport with guests and colleagues.
Specific qualifications for the role include:
• 3 to 6 months related experience; One year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Exceptional customer service skills
