Principal QA Automation Engineer - Technology Architecture (Information Technology)

As a Principal Test Automation Engineer, you will join a team of software developers who are passionate about constantly improving the quality of our applications and process by transforming and leveraging your QA Automation expertise to create lasting contributions. In this career move, you will work on cross functional teams united by the vision to align IT and business units, increase agility, and meet expanding customer demands in an ever-changing digital economy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with platform and application teams to define test scenarios, technical requirements, interfaces, and implementation strategies for cloud-native infrastructure, services, and applications.
  • Provide leadership, consultation, and mentorship to teams in developing test strategies and authoring tests, fostering a culture of quality and accountability.
  • Develop, document, and automate unit test cases derived from technical specifications, application packages, or programming logic.
  • Prepare technical design deliverables with minimal supervision.
  • Engage fully in all Agile ceremonies.
  • Document acceptance criteria, test specifications, and manage test assets within Microsoft Azure DevOps.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of experience conducting software quality assurance for enterprise applications
  • 3+ years of experience with test automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, Appium, PyTest)
  • 3+ years of experience with API testing tools (Bruno, Postman, Newman)
  • 3+ years of experience using modern programming in at least one or more modern scripting languages (Python)
  • 1+ years of experience with Behavior-Driven Development (Gherkin, SpecFlow, Cucumber)
  • Must be able to assess what level of automation testing is needed and associated toolset to achieve desired automation coverage
  • Must be able to identify the testing scope of a PBI and create API tests as needed
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or Azure DevOps
  • Experience debugging the configuration and integration of complex back-end systems
  • Experience creating SQL queries to use in validating test results and setting up test data
  • Experience working on team using Scrum framework or Agile methodology
  • Strong understanding of OOP principles
