Registered Nurse III - V (Fire Department) (Finance)



The Riverside County Fire Department is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse III-V position located at the Ben Clark Training Center (BCTC) in Riverside, CA.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing and assisting in the formulation of policies, procedures, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) educational programs, as well as supporting system enhancements. This role will also involve managing patient care in collaboration with agencies such as the Riverside Emergency Medical Services Agency (REMSA), Public Health, and CAL FIRE.

Additionally, the incumbent will oversee and monitor the department's Continuing Quality Improvement (CQI) Program and actively participate in CQI initiatives at both the county and state levels.
The most competitive candidates will possess the following:

  • Minimum 3 years in either of the following specialties (NICU, ED, ICU, TRAUMA, CODE, PICU)
  • BSN/MSN preferred
Required Licenses and Certifications
  • Current and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Basic Life Support, (BLS), certification issued by the American Heart Association.

The Department, a unique partnership between State of California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) and the County of Riverside, serves 19 partner agencies and 1 community service district. The Department has five core values: Leadership, Competence, Integrity, Safety, and Customer Service. Registered Nurse III:
Education: Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.

Experience: Three years of full time experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility, mental health facility, or community health agency with references and evaluations to show appropriate skill level. (A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or national certification in a nursing specialty may be considered as a substitution for one year of the required experience. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing may be considered as a substitution for two years of the required experience.)
Registered Nurse IV:
OPTION I
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in nursing or a health-related field, and a current and valid national certification in nursing or health related field.

Experience: Nine years as a full time Registered Nurse with at least two years in a specialty area.

OPTION II
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or health-related field.

Experience: Seven years as a full-time Registered Nurse with at least two years in a specialty area.

Registered Nurse V:
OPTION I
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in nursing or a health-related field, and a current and valid national certification in nursing or health related field.

Experience: Nine years as a full time Registered Nurse with at least two years in a specialty area.

OPTION II
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or health-related field.

Experience: Seven years as a full-time Registered Nurse with at least two years in a specialty area. Education/Required Documents Guidelines: Upload a copy of any official/unofficial transcript(s), degrees, and/or related employment documents to your NeoGov account. If your education was completed outside of the United States, you will need to provide a copy of your Foreign Education Equivalency evaluation from a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc.
