Sr Accountant (Finance)
Under general direction, performs various in-depth complex analytical and technical accounting functions to gather, analyze, interpret, record and present financial data.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Maintains confidentiality of CDS Global and its clients' proprietary information.
· Maintains complex accounts and records and performs other moderate to complicated accounting functions such as recording disbursements, expenses and payments.
· Develops, prepares and analyzes various formal financial statements, reports and records. Researches and prepares various moderate to complex accounting, reconciliations and journal entries.
· Reads and interprets contract information and applies to client billing and analysis.
· Gathers, analyzes and confirms accuracy of financial and billing data used for resolving discrepancies and answers inquiries regarding that data.
· Provides financial data and revenue reports to internal and/or external management and/or contacts. Communicates and presents relevant and pertinent information concerning data and reports.
· Builds and maintains reports using various specialized software programs.
· Responsible for various administrative functions of accounting and billing systems.
· Provides functional advice and guidance to Accountant 1 and Accounting Clerk employees.
· Works on special projects as requested by the Manager.
· Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established departmental procedures.
· Learns and applies new information in fast paced environment, including various accounting software applications and/or system reports.
· Interacts in cooperative and professional manner with all levels of employees, clients and/or vendors in team-oriented environment.
· Makes decisions on variety of tasks frequently requiring discretion, judgment and initiative guided by general procedures or standards.
· Follows all CDS Global ergonomic and safety policies.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Works extended hours as required or requested.
· Performs additional duties as required or requested.
· Occasional travel is required.
EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND LICENSING
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent Accounting work experience.
· Five or more years of progressively complex business accounting experience.
· Additional certification preferred, e.g., CPA, CMA.
· Advanced PC spreadsheet, word-processing and database knowledge and skills. Prefer Microsoft Office or equivalent software products, e.g., Excel, Access, and Word.
· Proficient accounting software knowledge and skills preferred.
· Proficient in reporting software knowledge and skills preferred.
· Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated skills gathering and interpreting data to solve non-routine and complex problems.
· Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
· Demonstrated skills prioritizing and completing long/short-term tasks with minimal supervision.
· Advanced math skills.
· Demonstrated experience remaining productive in changing environment.
· If required to travel, has access to transportation requiring a valid driver's license, proof of safe driving record and active insurance.
