Corporate Development Analyst (Legal)

Job Description:

Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Development, the Corporate Development Analyst will support the VP in a variety of growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, and will play a key role in supporting the strategic direction of the company. This includes conducting market research, identifying potential acquisition opportunities, performing detailed due diligence / analysis on target companies and developing financial models and forecasts for the executive leadership team as part of deal evaluation. This individual will work extensively with Epiq's executive team across Epiq's business units, becoming a key contributor to driving Epiq's growth agenda.

This is a broad role with a key focus on due diligence, forecasting and analysis. It will include:

  • Market research, including development of sector market maps
  • Supporting the sourcing and tracking of companies for potential acquisition
  • Tracking deal progress and next steps across multiple transactions simultaneously
  • Creating financial models for executive review for the purposes of company valuations
  • Building PowerPoint presentations and other materials to display investment rationale and expound upon risks and mitigants

Successful candidates will have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, math or related field
  • MBA or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of minimum related work experience (investment banking, private equity, and/or corporate development analyst / associate experience) including financial analysis and modeling
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to comprehend and handle large volumes of data, synthesize data into meaningful analyses and summarize key facts and conclusions in a concise and persuasive manner
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with all stakeholders
  • Expert level Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills required including experience building financial / forecast models, valuation analyses and investment committee / investment banking style deck
  • High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership
  • Ability to protect highly confidential information
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Prior sector experience not necessary

Candidates based in California, Colorado, New York or Washington:

The Compensation range for this role is 67,482.90 - 134,965.20 USD annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
