QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Recreational Therapy or equivalent preferred.
Five or more years of related experience is preferred.
Must be 21 years of age.
Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Adaptive Sports
Oversees all aspects of adaptive sports programs
Implement reasonable accommodations to programs and activities as needed
Secures and schedules athletic fields and facilities.
Organizes and conducts coaches training and meetings.
Organizes and conducts volunteer training and meetings.
Creates teams from all registrations.
Develops and distributes team practice and game schedules.
Develops and distributes adaptive sports rules, guidelines and handbooks.
Purchases and distributes team uniforms and awards.
Coordinates and distributes team photographs.
Organizes and hosts season parties and events.
Transports and sets up equipment for games and practices.
Monitors and purchases necessary sporting equipment.
Organizes and conducts adaptive sports clinics.
Develops and implements adaptive sports curriculum.
Collaborates with branch staff throughout the Association in the development of adaptive sports programs.
Trains branch staff throughout the Association in working with individuals with diverse abilities.
Serve as a member of the Inclusion and Adaptive Services Department
