Job Description

The purpose of the Mortgage Loan Closer is to coordinate the closing of all mortgage loan products, which includes the following core purposes: Liaison between the borrower, mortgage lending staff and third parties to the mortgage transaction Analyze, interpret, and act upon title policy conditions Develop and finalize closing disclosure based on TRID regulatory compliance with title company and borrower Analyze, interpret, and make decisions in order to clear underwriting conditions Coordinate the closing of the transaction with the title company, realtor, MLO and borrower Coordinate and deliver necessary credit union and borrower funds to title company Maintain compliance with Reg B, HMDA and TRID regulatory requirements Accountability to meet required credit union and purchase contract deadlines in order to deliver an exceptional borrower experience

Essential Functions

  • Develop and finalize closing disclosure and update closing costs as needed throughout the loan process to prevent tolerance violations and loan eligibility.
  • Review, interpret and act upon underwriting conditions
  • Coordinate loan closing time and location with member, title company, and third parties.
  • Prepare and verify closing documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with investor and lending regulations.
  • Coordinate with title companies, MLOs, borrowers and third-party vendors to prepare and deliver accurate closing disclosures within required timeframes.
  • Originate external and internal wire transfers to fund loan.
  • Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Ent policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Qualifications

Minimum Formal Qualifications for this Position

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field of study. Preferred
  • 2+ combined experience in customer service, financial services, real estate, accounting, or finance-related field. Required
  • 1+ years' experience in a mortgage loan closing/processing role. Preferred
Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of a bachelor's degree in accounting and 2+ years of account experience could be substituted for a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a master's degree in accounting and 0 years of work experience.

Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Working knowledge of first mortgage products, terminology, and process flow.
  • Working knowledge of investor and lending regulations.
  • Working knowledge of purchase contracts and title commitments.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Strong win/win focus on coordinating member service and external pressures to create positive outcomes for all interested parties.
  • Ability to prioritize/manage files and allocate resources.
  • Organized, detail oriented, flexible, and able to multi- task in an ever-changing environment.
  • Display positive, professional demeanor and work independently with little supervision.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Initiative to meet and/or exceed job standards and willingness to take on other tasks that support the goals of the Credit Union.

Additional Information

The pay range for this position is: $23.36 to $24.98 per Hour (S12)

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, certifications, and internal pay equity.

This position is eligible for a monthly incentive plan.
