Sanitation Supervisor (Biotech)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
People: Promote employee engagement and involvement in operational success
Plans and assigns work responsibilities to clean and sanitize plant equipment and facility. Makes adjustments as necessary to meet performance, safety and timeliness requirements.
Trains and instructs employees in regard to sanitation standards, SSOP(Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures), SQF (Safe Quality Food), GMP(Good Manufacturing Practices), and safety procedures.Oversees instruction, implementation and enforcement of policies as they relate to employees.Lead shift start-up meetings to ensure information is relayed between shifts.Communicate employee performance expectations, provide coaching and conduct performance reviews.
Participate onboard new plant employees by training and assessing knowledge of GMP and SQF protocals. to ensure food safety and product quality requirements are followed.
Manages sanitation crew member performance, including, but not limited to, employee training, coaching, motivation, evaluation, and disciplinary action as needed and in consultationwith Human Resources as needed.
Operations: Optimize production efficiency
Ensure accurate record keeping of performed testing and recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory regulations.Periodically audits sanitation and CIP processes to ensure compliance with SSOPs.Recommend and implement changes in methods, equipment, systems and organization, as needed, to assure that the objectives of the sanitation area are metCollaborate with quality team on employee training Collaborates with QA staff to troubleshoot and analyze sanitation-related issues.Collaborate with management to identify and correct sanitation or environmental issues to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
Costs: Manage operations within planned budgets
Manage staffing and scheduling to minimize overtime and absenteeism costs.Plan and establish sanitation sequences to meet production goals and optimize cost.Maintain equipment, supplies, and chemicals; report issues promptly to management.
Additional Responsibilities
May perform additional responsibilities directed from management.Promote and follow Rizo Lopez policies and procedures.Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.Recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of productsKnowledge of employee safety, food safety and quality programs (GMP, HAACP, SQF, etc.)Strong analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenExcellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style to create an engaged, motivated and high performing team.Ability to read and interpret reportsBi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferredLEAN manufacturing expertise desired

Required Education and Experience
A minimum of 2-4 years prior production supervisor experience in a manufacturing environmentA minimum of 2 years working in a food manufacturing facility or similar environment preferredHigh School diploma required; Bachelors degree preferred
Work Schedule
The typical work schedule is 8.00 hours per day 5 days per week; exact schedules and shifts are assigned by management. It is the attendance standard of the employer that employee be present and on time each shift they are scheduled to work. Full or partial absence during any scheduled shift, arriving late, or leaving early, for whatever reason, may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination or employment. Time off may be approved if allowed by applicable policies covering illness, injury, or other personal emergency.

Work Environment & Conditions
Work is normally performed in a warehouse/production type atmosphere where the temperature varies from 32 degrees - 90 degrees, depending on location. The noise level in the work environment usually is moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and hazardous chemicals. Employee should read the warning labels for information and instructions. Rizo Lopez maintains Safety Data Sheets (SDS) as required by law on hazardous products. SDSs are kept at the office for review by employees.
