What you will do:

To support the company's ambitious growth plans, PGIM Real Estate is seeking a highly motivated professional to join the company's Agricultural Investments group as an Asset Manager. The position is responsible for acquiring and managing farmland assets in the Western region of the U.S. in order to achieve fund and individual client objectives.  The candidate will be an integral part of the Western regional asset management and farm management team.

What you can expect:

• Provide general asset management and strategic direction for a portfolio of properties. This includes regular property visits and frequent contact and direction with internal farm mangers and on-site managers (custom farmers)
• Oversee the budget process and preparation of the annual strategic plan for each property. Review periodic property reports and track operating performance. Prepare regular updates and quarterly reports summarizing results and respond to information requests
• Assist the portfolio management and transactions teams for both the acquisition and disposition of properties
• Serve as the market expert in assigned territories/commodities.  Understand general trends and individual property markets / submarkets.
• Supervise, mentor and train junior members of the team
• Prepare analyses of various investment decisions and provide written recommendations – leasing; capital improvement; development/redevelopment; acquisition; hold/sell
• Review quarterly appraisals for factual accuracy and consistency with other similar properties
• Must be able to travel to farms on a regular basis which will require use of a personal vehicle and valid driver's license. Potential for air travel to visit farms, on an as needed basis
   

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's degree, required
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant real estate/agriculture investment experience, required
• Understanding of key real estate agreements including purchase and sale agreements, management agreements, commodity marketing agreements, crop insurance and leases
• Understanding of risk management and portfolio diversification
• Understanding of basic finance concepts such as NOI returns, cash flow returns, internal rate of return, present value/discounted cash flow, capital markets
• Experience managing a sizable portfolio of farmland or real estate assets within institutional caliber organizations
• Awareness of portfolio goals and ability to develop and monitor specific plans for individual investments that contributes to these goals
• Ability to make presentations to senior management, investment committee, or clients
• Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical ability
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Strong business writing skills

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $115,00 to $165,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
