Payroll Tax Accountant (Administrative)

Our Escheat/Payroll Tax Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the regulatory reporting requirements for unclaimed property and quarterly filings of manual payroll tax reporting.

Responsibilities

You Will . . .

  • Complete quarterly filings of payroll tax returns as required, as well as annual reconciliations
  • File any required amendments to payroll tax returns
  • Receive and document communications from taxing jurisdictions, research the situation, and take the appropriate action for resolution
  • Track tax payments at the close of each month to ensure they are applied to the correct account
  • Register entities in new taxing jurisdictions as the business develops and verify the appropriate steps have been taking to ensure accurate filings
  • Review rejected tax payments and resolve any underlying issues
  • Work with the remainder of the tax department, the payroll department and UKG to ensure the company complies with all federal, state and local payroll tax laws
  • Work with the Outside consultants related to the due diligence process.
  • Work with account payables to void all checks
  • Stop Payment Re-issue
  • Unclaimed Claimed Property upload for AUP Holder accounts
  • Unclaimed Claimed Property Reconciliations

Qualifications

The Experience You Will Bring (Minimum Requirements):

  • 1-3 years of Accounting experience
  • Possesses High-Level Mathematical Ability
  • Follows Company Procedures & Systems
  • Data analytics
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable process
  • Presents a Neat, Professional Image
  • Has Excellent Communication Skills
  • Software requirements:

    • Excel
    • Experience with various accounting Software Packages
    • Microsoft Office

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with JDE
