SCS Data Spec III (Finance)
Essential Position Responsibilities - This is a salary exempt position.
Assist in Supply Chain Data Management process. Collaborate with internal teams to develop and maintain accurate Supply Chain data including, but not limited to, direct and indirect materials, MRO items, price files and contract sheets. Identify opportunities to promote better data and procedures through adjustments, additions, or eliminations.
Data Support, Analysis & Resolution. Support accurate resolution of issues and questions for direct material, indirect material, and MRO item setup and maintenance. Communicate and coordinate with supported groups within the business. Occasionally train others in new or revised procedures. Analyze integrity of data at time of input. Escalate issues with data integrity as needed to ensure accurate data to meet the business needs.
Explore process improvements within the area of responsibility. Identify and elevate process gaps, as well as opportunities to streamline activities for Supply Chain harmonization within the organization. Focus on manual system integrations in Simmons' processes and systems. Work with all team members to drive better business processes.
Indirect Material Process Support. Partner with Category Management to advance indirect material management to transform ad hoc purchasing into a structured, data-driven process supporting strategic sourcing and cost optimization. Analyze supplier overlap, pricing variability, and contract gaps to identify opportunities for consolidation and negotiation. Highlight trends, high-frequency purchases, and supplier fragmentation to support strategies. Deliver actionable insights to enable Category Managers to pursue volume-based pricing and long-term agreements.
Project Leadership and Execution. Lead small-scale, high-impact initiatives within Supply Chain Services by proactively identifying opportunities to improve internal operations through data, systems, and reporting. Drive the development and execution of solutions that deliver measurable value to internal stakeholders. Act as a key liaison between cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment, clarity, and timely delivery of insights. Exemplify strong leadership, analytical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.
Participates as a member of the Team. Participate in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of concepts, programs and policies. Attend appropriate team meetings. Accept responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness then bring them to the attention of leadership. Must have leadership qualities and flexibility with respect to job requirements. Support issue resolution, actively seek process improvements, and reinforce actions to achieve synergy within the larger organization.
Simmons' Operating systems principles and objectives: Perform other duties as directed. Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. Oracle PLM, Tableau, Oracle Fusion Cloud, Microsoft Office Applications, company policies, LEAN); understand the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.
Travel: Travel occasionally within North America for training or to support supplier audits, occasionally requiring overnight stays.
Technical Experience: Related work experience preferred. Preference for experience in a field requiring attention to detail including operations, graphics, regulatory, labeling, prepress, quality, business, science, sourcing, etc. Strong communication, excellent project management skills and an understanding of business systems and processes are required.
Industry Experience: Preference for food processing organization.
Minimum Education: Minimum 4 years work experience, or 2 years work experience with Related Degree
Preferred Education: Degree in supply chain, business, analytics, etc.
