Call Center Paging Representative - Phone Interview Event - October 27 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm (Administrative)

We are seeking a Call Center Paging Representative with:

  • Compassion, empathy, and understanding when greeting callers who can at times be distressed
  • The ability to ask questions and to interpret and analyze a caller's situation and direct them appropriately
  • A passion to go “above and beyond” in assisting callers with their needs
  • The skill to take an average of 120-150 calls per shift which vary in complexity, from connecting callers to inpatient rooms, to notifying an on-call physician about an organ offer, to executing emergency plans.
  • The ability to think critically and act swiftly when managing the emergency line
  • The aptitude to navigate numerous on call schedules in order to facilitate urgent medical communication between physicians and patients needing care/medical advice

Education:
Minimum - High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred - Associate's or Bachelor's degree

Work Experience:
Minimum - One year of experience in a medical, call center, or customer service environment

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Strong customer service and telephone answering skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computers including various software programs such as word processing, database management, and spreadsheets.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Effective interpersonal communication and team skills in a complex organizational setting.
  • Knowledge of and experience with conflict resolution techniques and problem analysis/resolution skills preferred.
  • Experience in a large automated call service center and familiarity with at least one form of call processing software preferred.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with radio paging protocols preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools.  Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Schedule:
This is an hourly full-time, 40 hours per week position that rotates every other weekend, with a total of 5 shifts per week. Hours are 2:45pm -11:15 pm or 3:30pm-12:00am. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department. Receive additional compensation for working in the evenings and on weekends! Applicants hired into this position can work from either Illinois or Wisconsin. Details will be discussed during the interview process.
