SUMMARY: Responsible for the management of grants in collaboration with engineering, government relations, legal resources, and business units.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Engage with team members in the business units to identify, track and report grant opportunities. Facilitate ongoing discussions with business units and engineering teams on grant opportunities. Engage with business units and external stakeholders such as port authorities, city government and others to develop a regular annual planning cycle. Provide high level guidance to the business units on grants strategy, opportunities, grant applications, grant funding sources at the federal and state level. Plan future grant application schedules to match business unit capital investment needs. Oversee analyst and consultant research on government grant and other funding opportunities in support of corporate growth initiatives. Supervise analyst activity to develop and maintain a database of grants related research and internet content that can be shared with the business units. Maintain the grants opportunities pipeline with the business units. Manage external resources such as grant consultants. Manage team assignments to ensure competitive applications. Assist with grant writing reviews including schedules and document tracking as needed. Provide periodic status reports to senior leadership on the state of the program including previous outcomes, future, achievements, and issues.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in a related area; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE: 5-8 years of relevant experience; experience in project management, writing government proposals, conducting online research using databases and other tools.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. PMP certification preferred.

Ability to identify and/or document existing and new trends as well as evaluate and predict their impact on the organization. Ability to deliver prepared and ad hoc presentations to both large and small groups on job-related topics. Ability to mentor, coach, train and/or supervise employees.
JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like. Extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
