Mechanical Engineer (Engineering)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Mechanical design of modern switch-mode high power and high density power supplies
• Provide technical solutions for a wide range of thermal management system designs
• Work with manufacturing team for optimal and manufacture friendly product design
• Review designs for accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability
• Adhere to company design and product development guidelines and policies
• Assist other engineers with prototype testing
• Carefully consider any possible impact of thermal effects and regulatory compliance issues in the mechanical design
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MECHANICAL ENGINEER
• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university or Advanced Degree/Certificate
• Three to six years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)
• Five+ years of work experience in mechanical engineering design
• Must have experience with Solidworks
• Experience with Solidworks Flow is a plus
• Knowledge in Heat Transfer
• Experience in Electronic Product Packaging and Testing (Shock & Vibration, Drop Test, Pull Test, Audible Noise, Dust, Salt Spray, etc.)
• Experience with standard drawing convention, geometric dimensioning, tolerance and design for manufacturing (DFM)
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board or directors.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
