Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Exhaust system repair and installationHydraulic hose & tube fabricationInstall & repair fuel management & filtration systemsOnboard fire suppression systemsPerform freshwater system repairs and installationPerform chilled water system repairs and installationPerform grey system repairs and installationPerform salt water systems repairs & installationPerform toilet system installation, service & maintenancePerform tank testing & describe closing proceduresValve overhaul & inspectionPerform & develop class compliant IPQA formsMechanically fasten pipe flangesFit and glue PVC pipingSweat copper, sort solderSilver braze bronze fittingsLite riggingMaintain clean work areaMaintain integrity of yacht interiors and exterior finishOvertime, nights and weekend work may be required as customer service needs fluctuateOther duties as assigned by Manager
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
Technical and Physical Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferredSailing knowledge preferredHoisting/Crane Operator experience preferredPrevious experience preferred, willing to trainABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferredAbility to ascend and descend a ladderMust carry own toolsFamiliarity with boats and nomenclatureAbility to lift 150 poundsWork in confined spacesmaneuver in a variety of spaces,Stand, crouch &kneel for long periods of timeVisual acuity, talk and listen, push, pull, reach, grasp, and walk
