Network Construction Manager (Information Technology)



Position Title:  Network Construction Manager (T4)

Responsibilities 

  • Plan and oversee the work for FTTH, small cells, in-building iDAS and public right-of way deployments 
  • Manage site construction schedules and resources on projects 
  • Consult and advise on all aspects of construction work 
  • Make recommendations for vendor selection 
  • Attend deployment meetings and other customer meetings on behalf of Crown Castle 
  • Order and manage equipment and material for your projects; create bill of materials (BOM) and validate gaps to manage material procurement  
  • Be present on construction sites; participate in bid walks, pre-con walks, in-progress site visits, and construction closeouts. Give direction to general contractors based on job specifications 
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Management team 
  • Escalate issues that impact project completion or cost to Project Managers and customers 
  • Troubleshoot issues that occur onsite and make recommendations based on priority and need to ensure the project and budget are maintained. 
  • Ensure jobs are accurately tracked and maintained in our project tracking system  
  • Be available as an escalation point to engage General Contractors on corrective actions post internal closeout review. 
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with Crown Castle construction standards, processes, and procedures.   

Education/Certifications 

  • High School Diploma or GED  
  • A Valid driver's license is a bona fide job requirement to drive and operate a Crown Castle vehicle in this position. Subject to local and state eligibility, a pre-employment background check with MVR will be conducted to evaluate a candidate's safety record and eligibility to drive for a job. 

Experience/Minimum Requirements   

  • Three+ (3+) years' experience managing telecommunications/wireless construction or civil construction projects 
  • Ability to read and understand Construction Designs/Drawings and blueprints  
  • Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground)  
  • Working knowledge of NESC, NEC and OSHA standards.  
  • Ability to direct and diagnose workflow problems, critical paths, and institute remedies  
  • Knowledgeable about construction budgets and prevailing rates for construction work  
  • Strong computer skills - MS Office and project management software knowledge  
  • Familiarity with test equipment and techniques for performing RF Sweep tests, OTDR, Power Meter, and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing.  
  • Knowledge of site acquisition procedures, including regulatory and permitting process  
  • Knowledge of Fiber Optic Networking  
  • Customer service, communication, and leadership skills with a strong problem-solving approach   

Organizational Relationship 

Reports to: Program Manager – Infrastructure Engineering & Technology 

Working Conditions: This role is field-based, with time shared both in the office and on-site in active construction zones with exposure to heavy equipment and environmental conditions which is required 80-90% of the time. Works in a field office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions 10-20% of the time.  Occasional overtime may be required. Travel is required based on the location of work-sites, meetings, etc. 

*Initial worksite will be in Boise, ID or Bend, OR.

The pay range offered for this position is $40,00 - $55.00 per hour. A candidate's offer is determined by various factors including but not limited to, depth of experience, role-related knowledge and skills, relevant education or training, internal alignment, and work location.  Depending on the position offered, the compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of a discretionary annual cash bonus or commissions, and equity incentives. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive a minimum of 18 days of paid time off each year and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
