Client Onboarding AVP (bilingual Japanese-English) (Finance)



Summary

As a KYC onboarding AVP, your primary responsibility is to ensure the proper onboarding of new clients by conducting customer due diligence (KYC), including collecting and validating a new customer's identity and documentation, conducting negative news and sanction screenings, assessing the risks of the customers and its associated parties, and ensuring compliance with AML and regulatory requirements. In addition to KYC process, your responsibility is to confirm that new client's profile is registered in the systems and accounts are opened in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily KYC onboarding requests and inquiries for all divisions of Mizuho.
  • Collect and verify information and documents from front offices or customers, including FinCEN document & ID, etc.
  • Ensure accuracy of customer information in KYC platform and conduct due diligence and know your customer processes, including negative news and sanction screenings and risk assessment.
  • Collect Dodd-Frank protocols from the customers or via front desks and ensure the data is properly registered in the system for reporting purposes.
  • Work closely with front offices, compliance, other operations and other relevant sections to complete customer onboarding in timely manner.
  • Ensure new client's profile and products are registered in the systems and accounts are opened by specific due dates.
  • Assist in UAT exercises to enhance current systems/portal and additional releases.
  • Assist in internal and external audit inquiries.
  • Support direct team manager and other team members when needed.

Skills and Competencies

  • 3+ year experience of KYC process and BSA and AML regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Japanese (Bilingual Japanese- English).
  • Ability to execute effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership of tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Appropriate and confidential handling of customer data.

The expected base salary ranges from $77,0 00 - $120,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
