In September of 2020, American Water was awarded a 50-year contract to privatize the water and wastewater utilities at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington state. JBLM is the DoD's premiere military installation on the West Coast. JBLM was formed in 2010 after the consolidation of Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base. It is a joint force power projection platform for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. We're looking for a professional wastewater treatment operator to join our team (WA-WWTPO-III highly preferred).
Position Details
Pay Range: $25.00/hr. - $40.50/hr.
The base pay range represents a good faith salary range for this position. This position is eligible for annual incentive pay and has the opportunity for continued salary growth. If you are hired at American Water your base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as market, geography, skills, education and/or experience. Primary Role
Independently operates, maintains, repairs and inspects wastewater treatment plant and collection system (lift stations, holding tanks, grease traps, etc.). Includes the collection of wastewater samples per state regulations, performing process control laboratory testing, recording data and preparing regulatory reports, adjusting chemical feed rates, and other similar duties. Position will also be required to assist with the water collection system on a periodic basis and participate in water and sewer main and service repairs.
