Coder 1 (Information Technology)
- Reviews physician medical documentation to assign ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Position reviews claim denials to assist on correct billing
- Possesses the ability to follow all NCCI and OPPS edits in accordance with industry regulations
- Possesses the ability to follow all regulatory guidelines in the reporting and sequencing of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for all patient types
- Generates coding queries to physicians when appropriate
Requirements
- CPC certification required
- 1 year hospital outpatient coding experience preferred
