The Athletic Trainer will assist athletes with injury recovery, injury prevention, and general development and maintenance of health and fitness. Conduct initial assessment of an athletes injury or illness Determines whether athletes should be referred to physician for specific diagnosis and treatment Works collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers Provides first aid or emergency care when needed Assists athlete in performing and completing rehabilitative exercise Evaluates the readiness of athletes to play Approves participation in sports when appropriate Demonstrates proper use of equipment Provides information and instruction to coaches, athletes, parents, medical personnel, or interested members of the community regarding care and prevention of injuries Implements comprehensive illness and athletic injury prevention practices. Develop/oversee fitness program for middle school athletes Provide services for summer athletic camps in Hot Springs Attend all Hot Springs High School (HSHS) athletic practices Provide clinic hours after school and on site @ HSHS this is to include soap notes for communication with healthcare partners Attend all HSHS home events; occasionally some away. Provide occasional treatments by appointment during study halls for HSHS student athletes Become CPR instructor certified and teach CPR/ELS 2-3 times/month for FRHS staff Participate in FRHS committees (wellness committee) as requested Develop and oversee Fit kids programs
