Senior Scrum Master (Finance)
About the Role:
You will be responsible for enacting Scrum ceremonies, principles and methodologies as the Scrum Master on the International Treasury Services (ITS) program in partnership with and support of the Product Owner, Business Analysts, Development Team, Agile Coach, and Project Leadership.
Key Activities:
- Guides the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values by supporting a self-organized team, coaching the team on self-organization practices, and increasing the effectiveness through the application of Scrum/Agile practices in the organization.
- Ensures that the team is fully functional and productive by building and maintaining the product roadmap and release plan based on the priorities set by the Product Owner and input from the team.
- Helps remove impediments and/or guides the team to remove impediments both within the team and with external groups.
- Builds a safe and trusting environment where conflicts are managed in a healthy way without fear or blame.
- Assists with internal and external communications, improving transparency and effectively conveying information.
- Facilitates and/or ensures Agile ceremonies are conducted and embraced in order to drive agile development.
- Ensures that goals, scope, and product domain are understood and practiced by everyone on the team.
- Leads change that increases the productivity of the team and ensures delivery of valuable products.
- Works independently; accountable for leading sprints and driving the team to overall success by enacting Agile/Scrum practices and principles.
- Scope of contacts involves frequent interaction with internal or external project sponsors, stakeholders, project teams, and peers. Reports to, advises, and works closely with, multiple project sponsors across business lines, the System, and/or the Treasury. Nature of interaction includes facilitating, directing and influencing project teams, and building, navigating, and maintaining collaborative stakeholder, customer, vendor, and contractor relationships. May routinely interact and build relationships with senior executives. Typically requires interaction with various governing bodies throughout the System and/or Treasury. Models' excellent customer service skills in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
- Typically requires 6 years of relevant experience with Agile/Scrum execution in an IT or software development setting.
- Strong skills in JIRA or comparable Scrum-related management tool.
- Requires knowledge of multiple Agile development methodologies and frameworks.
- PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals, and to determine and implement reporting and communication strategies. Uses persuasion and tact in orchestrating project objectives and direction, as well as project team. Skilled at negotiating commitments among various stakeholders and possesses strong meeting facilitation skills.
- Works independently; accountable for leading sprints and driving the team to overall success by enacting Agile/Scrum practices and principles.
- Possesses thorough knowledge or mastery of Agile/Scrum principles to recommend and negotiate project direction. Utilizes knowledge of latest trends related to information technology and Scrum to identify and apply qualitative and quantitative best practices and tools for Scrum execution and management.
- Strong to excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills, including ability to effectively customize approach for each project based upon business problem, technology requirements, complexity, and scale, as well as effectively manage shifting priorities, demands, and timelines. Offers and implements creative solutions to resolve problems involving project direction, deliverables, resources allocations, and budget implications.
- Excellent soft skills in facilitating collaboration, building strong relationships, and promoting high levels of teamwork/synergy.
This position has additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while performing the job. These additional screenings would be initiated at the time of offer acceptance and can take up to a couple of months to be completed. You can begin work before the screening is completed; however, continued employment is contingent on acceptable screening results.
