Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs for a variety of motorized equipment, including:
Electric and gas fork lifts, sit-downs and stand-ups
Walk-behind material movers and motorized lift carts
Fleet vehicles, both gas and diesel
Trucks and vans
Box trucks
Flatbed haulers
Personnel lifts- scissors and boom lifts
Peform preventative maintenance and repairs for facility equipment such as river pumps, emergency generators, diesel fire pump, portable generators.
Disassemble machines and repair or replace broken parts.
Examine mechanical and electrical systems of equipment to diagnose trouble.
Adjust functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment that could include lubrication, replacement of disposable and wear parts, adjustments and diagnostics.
Assist supervisor and engineers in the specification and selection of replacement parts, needed tools, and equipment.
Ability to create custom items with a variety of materials.
Communicate internally with contacts outside the work group to resolve issues and/or to collaborate on work procedures, including team projects and kaizens.
Communicate with external contacts by telephone, writing, or in person for ongoing service, diagnosing issues, acquiring information or ordering parts by providing detailed information concerning equipment repairs, issues, or questions.
Ability to carry out assigned tasks independently.
Servce as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with company policies, 5S procedures, and in line with company core values.
3-5 or more years of experience in vehicle and motorized equipment maintenance in an or an equivalent combination of experience and education (technical degree or apprenticeship).
Effectively communicate and work in a team environment.
Ability to write to record basic information (record maintenance activities, completing forms, creating procedures, etc.).
Knowledge of and ability to compute basic arithmetic skills such as, or comparable to: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions and decimals.
Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of measuring equipment.
Basic knowledge in computer applications to produce basic/standard output (word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, standard or recurring reports, etc.). Previous experience with maintenance software a plus.
Knowledge of an ability in welding and brazing repairs and fabrication.
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems and components as they pertain to motorized equipment and vehicles.
Knowledge of and ability to select and adjust appropriate tools, objects or materials to attain demanding standars in different work situations.
Knowledge of and ability to use tools or special devices to work, guide or move objects or materials. Start, stop, and control the actions of machines or equipment for which a course must be steered or guided in order to fabricate, process, or move objects.
Knowledge of and ability to solve unique problems that are diversified and involved. Judgment is required to adapt standard practices and principles to meet new conditions.
Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
Associate must provide a complete set of hand tools. Specialty tools will be supplied by Regal Rexnord.
