Planning Specialist (Finance)

Primary Purpose of the Role

Plans and Coordinates activities involved with Customer items and stock items. Interacts with forecasting, purchasing, manufacturing, customer service and distribution. Impacts raw material and finished goods inventories.

Essential Job Duties

• Ability to plan Custom Programs in MRP system

• Lead weekly conference call with Marketing, Sales and Customer Service to review and communicate status of Custom Programs

• Take ownership to track and ensure Finished Goods items are completed on time

• Contact person for assigned accounts/times for questions or status updates

• Work with Master Planner to communicate changes in capacity requirements

• Work Closely with Production Planners for expedite requests

• Work with Bill of Material team on item set up and completion requirements

• Work with Marketing team to ensure we are holding proper capacity for custom programs

• Work with Forecasting team on forecast changes and adjust Production Plans accordingly

• Works closely with Customer Service & Shipping Departments

• Notifies Procurement team of expedite requests due to reduced lead time of Custom Programs.

• Provide back-up to other Production Planning Specialists.

• Projects as directed.

• Follow and Maintain all Food Safety, GMP and HACCP Guidelines

Required Skills and Abilities

• High level of detail and accuracy.

• Ability to plan Custom Programs in MRP system and Catalog items

• Lead weekly conference call with Marketing, Sales and Customer Service to review and communicate status of Custom Programs

• Take ownership to track and ensure Finished Goods items are completed on time

• Good communication skills and organizational skills.

• Able to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize workload.
• Preferred Degree in Operations Management, Business Administration or related
• Minimum 2-3 years of related work experience
