Edward Jones is expanding the Data Stewardship team to better support the Enterprise Data Governance capabilities and resources. We lead the organization in maximizing the value, quality, trust and understanding of our data for the benefit of clients, advisors and associates.
The Enterprise Data Governance Framework enables the firm to maximize the ability to generate value through its data in a structured, consistent, scalable and trusted manner.
The Data Steward III will proactively drive and contribute to the company's vision and data initiatives.
In this role, you will promote the Firm's commitment to clean, reliable and accurate data, by acting as a tangible function of the firm's data governance framework –ensuring our data is cared for through its complete lifecycle, as an enterprise asset. Data Stewards partner across the firm to ensure data is created, managed and effectively utilized – which leads to understood, controlled and reliable data.
You'll also define and implement data standards and resolution practices.
Responsibilities:
Oversee data lifecycle including operational and administrative management of Human Resource-specific data and overall data curation
Provide metrics on metadata descriptions from data sources to measure completeness of descriptions and compliance with metadata standards
Drive discussions on data definition, taxonomy and classification based on lineage and transfer / business transformation data
Define and assist with implementing specific data quality requirements and present metrics documenting adherence and improvements to data quality rules
Assist in development and maintenance of business requirements / classifications of data (e.g., retention, security classification, etc.)
Help identify metadata-related inconsistencies across business areas and propose resolutions
Lead resolution for data integration and reconciliation issues
Partner with regulatory and compliance teams to analyze and prepare for any impact from current or future regulatory landscapes
Effectively communicate progress and risk evaluations with management, peers and vendors to streamline workflows and articulate resolutions and project timelines
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education & experience is required with an emphasis in Business, Human Resource, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering
4+ years' experience in data management, data governance, data quality, master data management, and/or designing and implementing functional systems and data in a structured process
Ability to drive change, create new business processes, and lead/influence others without formal authority
Ability to summarize highly complex business cases, system information and concepts and clearly communicate to firm leadership
Technical/Functional:
Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills including pivot tables, advanced charting, advanced formulas, and conditional formatting
Working knowledge of data flows and data sources within interactive databases
