Distribution Supervisor (Transportation)



Provide supervision of the distribution department employees

  • Supervise employees from various functional departments to ensure department needs are met.
  • Oversee the distribution team to ensure accurate and timely shipment of products to customers and other plants are made using the most cost-efficient method.
  • Monitor distribution team in the completion of daily cycle counts and regularly scheduled inventories.
  • Oversee the tank farm team in the daily unloading of railcars.
  • Ensure proper documentation control on all goods being shipped and received.

 

Allocate Department Resources to ensure that plant goals and production needs are met

  • Utilize (interview, train, motivate, direct, etc.) personnel to achieve their maximum potential and personal well-being (job satisfaction, safety, moral, etc.) and performance.
  • Review personnel problems and recommend corrective action to department manager and employee relations.

 

Monitor supplies and Coordinate with other departments to ensure that operational needs are met

  • Monitor raw materials, semi-finished goods, operational materials, and spare parts for inventory accuracy and systematic processing / control.
  • Receive and direct goods to internal customers and plant storeroom areas.
  • Coordinate delivery of materials to proper areas within the plant.
  • Interface with Accounting and other departments on problems and distribution matters.

 

Maintain shipping, receiving, and storing activities in accordance with corporate policies and health, safety, and governmental regulations.

  • Support Management's direction and corporate goals, while providing honest feedback and input to improve operational performance.
  • Adhere to the organization's Quality and Food Safety standards.
  • Adhere to all local and corporate safety policies.
  • Participle in monthly continuous improvement activities/Plant Safety team.

 

 

 

Coordinate regular maintenance activities

  • Coordinate maintenance of company vehicles.
  • Coordinate contractor service for waste removal.
  • Perform other duties as required by department manager.
