Corporate Legal Internship (Legal)



IMMI ® is looking for a Legal Intern to join our Legal Team during the Summer of 2022. This intern will report to the General Counsel to support the Legal Department in regulatory reporting, organize and develop contracts, analyze competitors' patents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety compliance/Reporting:

  • Assist with ongoing regulatory reporting (NHTSA, CPSC)
  • Summarize requirements, including globally

Contract Management

  • Organize contracts for raw material adjustments and develop system for implementation

Contract Templates

  • Develop/Update various agreements: stand terms and conditions, long term supply agreement; sourcing agreements

Global Legal Resources

  • Create legal resource summary for General Manager's, leadership, including instructions on who to call and when and procedures for retaining outside counsel.

Intellectual Property

  • Track and analyze competitors' patents
  • Develop ongoing system to organize IMMI patents and renewal fees/budget

Product liability/litigation assistance:

  • Investigation plans for open lawsuits and/or watchlist claims.
  • Document collection/review analysis

Defense regulations:

  • Project as needed.

Labor/Employment

  • Projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Strong attention detail.
  • High level organization and critical thinking skills.

Education/Training:

  • Currently enrolled as at least a Junior in a credited college or university majoring in Law, Pre-Law, Criminal Justice, Business with an interest in law or related major.
