EHS Coordinator (Biotech)
U.S. Silica is a global performance materials company and a leading producer of commercial silica used in a wide range of industrial applications and in the oil and gas industry. The Company is headquartered in Katy, Texas, and has an office located in Reno, Nevada.
The EHS Coordinator reports directly to the Plant Manager, but also works with the Corporate EHS team. This position is responsible for the implementation and management of corporate environmental, health, and safety programs, as well as, developing, training and recommending specific environmental health and safety related programs and activities, while following corporate and government regulations and guidelines.
Essential Job Functions:
This position works with a minimal amount of supervision and works approximately 60 percent of the time out in the plant environment.
The EHS Coordinator will work closely with all levels of the plant and corporate organizations and will need to work before internal and external groups.
This position requires some travel and a flexible work schedule. It is very important that he/she is able to respond effectively to emergency situations.
This position is a very important component of the overall plant succession planning strategy.
Once fully trained in essential job duties/functions, the EHS Manager will be cross trained with the other site managers and superintendents.
The expectation is that the incumbent will be a competent and capable backfill to the other positions in a reasonable amount of time.
