The Business Development Advisor will report to the Director, Business Growth & Financial Planning and work closely with Business Development representatives in the identified growth areas throughout our company in support of our growth mandate. What you'll do
Major Accountabilities
Analyze the market, conduct research, identify, evaluate, and recommend acquisitions and greenfield opportunities that align with the company's strategic growth mandate.
When an opportunity is identified; develops the business case, the acquisition project plan, the resources required for pursing and ultimately closing the deal and assisting with integration of the assets and customers.
Network with various external stakeholders to support business growth and development at Corix. This can include developers, competitors, regulators, public officials, engineer firms, legal firms, Home/Property Owner Associations, and the general public.
Work in collaboration with the business development teams in the various business units throughout Corix and offer support pursuing growth opportunities when/if required.
Work with internal cross functional teams not only when pursing and evaluating opportunities but also in the due diligence process. This will include; finance, operations, compliance, regulatory, legal, health and safety, compliance and customer care.
Implement strategies to optimize growth opportunities and meet business growth goals.

General Responsibilities
Pursue growth opportunities across North America in the identified growth areas.
Research, identify and evaluate acquisition and greenfield opportunities
Work with Developers who require water, wastewater and/or district energy services
Work with Sellers, private and public entities, to acquire utility systems
Negotiate deal structures, asset purchase agreements, developer agreements, and other such agreements in support of closing deals
Build strategic business relationships that will support long-term growth plans
Prepare and present business cases to senior leadership teams
Responsible for data collection related to business opportunity and inputting to the company wide growth funnel in a timely manner
Strong commitment to safe work environment

What you bring
Experience and Education
Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum of 5 years merger and acquisition experience, preferably with a focus on opportunity development
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as strong collaborative and team building skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with internal and external stakeholders\\
Brings a high level of enthusiasm in pursuing growth opportunities.
Strong strategic, planning and organization skills with the ability to focus on multiple projects at one time.
Ability to prioritize, ensuring that deadlines are met and work is completed in a timely fashion.
Ability to keep accurate records and prepare and submit accurate reports and data.\\Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, including negotiating, decision-making, research and analysis
MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint; ability to learn internal software programs
Ability to understand a variety of the industry's business concepts, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of environmental and economic regulatory requirements or willing to learn.

Travel throughout North America; up to 50% for training, meetings, pursing opportunities, supporting other business development teams., etc.
