Senior Human Resources Generalist (Government)



ABS Kids is looking for an in-person Senior HR Generalist to join our team in Raleigh or Charlotte, NC.  The Senior Human Resources Generalist (SHRG) acts as the primary point of contact for assigned region(s) supporting the daily Human Resources (HR) functions. Responsibilities include managing complex employee relations issues, acting as a subject matter expert for benefits related questions/issues, administering workers' compensation claims, managing leave of absences in accordance with federal/state/local/company guidelines, and enforcing company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

What Would You Do:

  • Demonstrate independent discretion to respond to complex employee relations issues in a manner that aligns with ABS Kids mission statement, policies, and procedures
  • Provide effective support to management in the development of job descriptions, compensation administration, terminations, employee relations, and performance management issues
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Cultivate an HR culture of effective employee relations and manager partnership.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, providing guidance to management and employees
  • Assist with the open enrollment process and ensures benefit enrollments and terminations are processed timely
  • Assist the HR Director in handling escalated employee relations issues and in the absence of the HR Director, provides support to Human Resources Generalist (HRG) in various HR-related topics and resolve issues and conflicts
  • Assist the HR Director in training, cross- training and on-boarding HRGs
  • Administer HR tasks related to on-boarding, cross-boarding and off-boarding processes as needed
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance

  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred
  • Experience: 5+ years HR Generalist Experience required
  • PHR/SHRM-CP certification required, SPHR/SHRM-SP preferred
  • This particular role requires an understanding and awareness of diversity and inclusion issues and best practice
