Museum Aide - Archivist (Education)



POSITION SUMMARY
Under the Museum and Historic Sites Supervisors direction, the Museum Aide focuses on the care and keeping of the archival collection at the Capital City Museum. This includes responsibilities related to maintaining, documenting, and cataloging all incoming donations to the museum.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain automated collections management system using Past Perfect 5 computer software.
Maintain public library and archives at Capital City Museum.
Conducts research and collects materials related to the history of Frankfort and Franklin County as they relate to archival documentations
Work to digitize and make archival material accessible
Maintain electronic archival database utilizing Past Perfect 5 computer software.
Catalogs and accessions all necessary material
Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES
Strong communication
Motivated and personally driven
Detail oriented
Computer skills, including, but not limited to: Google Suite, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
Familiarity with Past Perfect 5 Museum Software or comparable archival software
